DRAFT PROTOTYPE

I first began the design process by creating a quick mock prototype with Figma. Keeping it in grayscale allowed me to see where highlights were needed and which areas required more contrast for clarity needs. This was our MVP 1.

CHALLENGES ALONG THE WAY

One of the key challenges that we faced was the need to strike the right balance between functionality and design. While the previous version of the product had been built by an overseas team with a focus on back-end development, it lacked the visual appeal and legibility that users had come to expect in today's highly competitive marketplace. In response, we worked diligently to create a platform that was both visually stunning and highly intuitive, leveraging cutting-edge design principles and industry best practices.

To ensure that our efforts were aligned with user needs and preferences, we adopted a highly agile and iterative approach to development. This involved creating design frames for testing, gathering rapid feedback from users, and tweaking the designs with daily updates throughout the development process. By prioritizing user feedback and leveraging the latest technologies and design techniques, we were able to create a platform that was both highly functional and visually appealing, garnering positive feedback and high levels of engagement from users. Below Showcases MVP 2.

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCH

Feedback Process

After receiving feedback on MVP Version 2, we carefully analyzed and evaluated each comment and suggestion, taking into consideration the needs and preferences of our target audience. This critical feedback provided us with the necessary insights to improve the overall flow and design of the product.

Our development team was quick to act on the feedback, and we embarked on a journey to develop MVP Version 3, which was designed to meet the growing needs of our users. We added new features, such as enhanced options for club management, to provide users with greater flexibility and control over their club activities.

In addition to feature enhancements, we also placed a strong emphasis on improving the user interface design to ensure that it was both visually appealing and intuitive to use

Prototyping Stage

Through User Experience Research data and insights on User Interface practices, our team developed the third iteration of our Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Unlike previous versions, our team's approach was to create a platform that not only provided students with a new space for social interaction, but one that directly contributed to enhancing the club management process. We aimed to design a more refined and organized user interface, with a stronger focus on improving a club's ability to attract members, gain followers, and ultimately thrive on the platform.

To achieve this objective, we made strategic alterations to the core components of our platform. Firstly, we replaced the Announcements component with a Notification component, making it simpler and more organized for users to receive alerts about club activities. We also introduced a MyClubs component, which provided additional tools for club leaders and members. This feature helped to eliminate the clutter that previously impeded the MVP Version 1, and significantly improved the overall experience for our users.
